The folks over at have got an inside tip on Samsung’s upcoming Note 2 and according to their source, the phone will indeed sport a 5.5-inch Super AMOLED display. By the sound of it, it still seems like Samsung is sticking to the Pen-tile matrix display instead of the RGB variant used in the S II. Apart from the screen size, the design is said to be heavily inspired from the Galaxy S III so we can expect a similar form factor with heavily rounded edges and pebble like design. The Note 2’s launch date also seems to have been pushed forward to September instead of the previously rumoured October time frame. We don’t have any more details on the handset but users should expect an improved 8MP BSI sensor, one of the new Exynos SoCs (dual or quad is unknown as of now) and of course Ice Cream Sandwich. It would be really great if Samsung can launch the phone with Jelly Bean, although that seems a little unlikely.
similar rumours about the Note 2 earlier this month from Ubuntulife.com, who claimed that the next version would have a larger 5.5-inch display and a pixel density of around 360ppi. It was also rumoured to feature a faster CPU and more memory, which make sense. That would be quite a step up from the current model. If the Note 2 is indeed modelled around the S III then there is a good chance that the phone will get some or all of the ‘S’ features like S Beam, Smart Stay eye tracking, Smart Voice, etc. Just a couple of days back, Samsung Mobile Arabia let the Note 2 out of the bag via . The tweet asked the users which phone they were most looking forward to and among the Galaxy Beam and Galaxy Tab 2, they also mentioned the Note 2. Now Samsung Mobile Arabia isn’t the official Twitter channel for Samsung but it’s pretty clear now that they were on the right track.
The source allegedly said that the Galaxy Note 2 will sport a 5.5-inch Super AMOLED display and that it’s design is Galaxy S3-inspired. We previously said, based from rumors, that the purported Galaxy Note 2 could take on the same display size of the original Galaxy Note, which is 5.3-inches.
The source also added that the release date of the rumored Galaxy Note 2 will be this coming September, contrary to our previous report citing October. The reason for the change of date is reportedly due to Samsung’s plan to deliver the device before Apple will release the iPhone 5. Interesting isn’t it? But note that these are merely rumors that will need to be verified. Stay tuned for more updates.
